An innovative product for the MSOs and VOD Service Providers
Video On Demand (VOD) Session Simulator is a tool that's acts as a set
of Set top boxes (STB) posing as DSM-CC clients to the DNCS / session
Manager to set up and tear down interactive sessions. This new tool
gives Multiple Service Operators (MSOs) and VOD Service Provider
customers the capability to implement more effective VOD system
testing. It gives Video Service Providers the ability to test the VOD
environment to identify the potential flaws in the system and implement
fixes before launch. It is also a valuable tool for MSOs helping them
to determine the capacity load for their VOD system.
The VOD Session Simulator tool simulates the live environment of
hundreds of thousands of Set Top Boxes (STBs). This function gives
customers the ability to have multiple configurable parameters like the
DNCS IP address, Server NSAP address, number of STBs to emulate (along
with their IP and MAC addresses), and delay between session requests.
