ATLANTA, GA – October 17, 2011– itaas today announced that Chris Bowick has joined the itaas Advisory Board. In this role, Bowick will provide guidance on technology trends and ways to serve the needs of service providers as they transition from a TV centric, RF digital network to a multiscreen, multiplatform environment over an IP network.
Bowick is one the most respected technical leaders of the cable and telecommunications industries, having spent over 25 years in executive management roles for companies such as Cox Communications, Jones Intercable, and Scientific-Atlanta. He is a past recipient of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association’s (NCTA) highest honor, the Vanguard Award for Science and Technology.
Bowick most recently served in an interim capacity as chief technical officer (CTO) of Charter Communications during the company’s search for a permanent CTO. In June 2009 he retired from Cox Communications as senior vice president of engineering & CTO, responsible for strategic technology planning, day-to-day technical operations, and the development and deployment of technology solutions for the company’s video, voice, high speed data and wireless products. He was also responsible for network engineering and network operations for the Cox nation-wide network infrastructure.
