The istart program is designed to provide an entry point for application developers who need set-top client development tools and support on multiple platforms.

Under the istart umbrella, we offer several developer programs to meet your individual requirements, including Scientific Atlanta, A Cisco Company's SARA / PowerTV and tru2way Axiom, TVWorks ETV, as well as Time Warner's Mystro Digital Navigator (MDN) and OCAP Digital Navigator (ODN). istart also provides unparalleled technical support to innovative iTV developers on various platforms.

istart SARA / PowerTV developer program

This program is targeted to application providers developing C/C++ client applications running on Scientific Atlanta's Resident Application (SARA) and PowerTV.

SARA/PowerTV program offers three levels of annual membership.

Runtime-only membership includes Current SARA/PowerTV ROM files, software tools to flash the set-top box with the ROM images and the SA Stand-alone environment (SNFS environment).

Software-Development Kit (SDK) membership includes the features of the Runtime-only membership as well as a set of application programming interfaces (API), which are used to create rich graphical user interfaces, perform client messaging, and use peripheral devices such as keyboards and remotes.

SDK Enhanced membership includes the software for the SDK level and the headend APIs.

istart tru2way Axiom developer program

This program is targeted to application providers developing Java based client applications running on Scientific Atlanta's Axiom middleware for Scientific Atlanta Explorer Set-top box series.

tru2way Axiom program offers one level of annual membership.

SDK membership includes PowerTV OS and Axiom Middleware Stack as well as a set of application programming interfaces (API) for application development and management.

istart ETV developer program

This program is targeted to application providers developing applications running on TV Works ETV Client for Motorola STBs.

ETV offers one level of annual membership.

SDK membership for ETV is only offered with the software development kit.

istart MDN developer program

This program is targeted to application providers developing flash client applications running on Time Warner Cable's Mystro Digital Navigator (MDN) running on Scientific Atlanta Explorer Set-top box series.

MDN offers one level of annual membership.

SDK membership includes the MDN SDK which includes the MDN Stack along with the Bluestreak Developer Kit also known as the MachBlue Studio for TV (MDN Edition).

istart ODN developer program

This program is targeted to application providers developing Java client applications running on Time Warner Cable's OCAP Digital Navigator (ODN).

ODN offers one level of annual membership.

SDK membership for ODN is only offered with the software development kit.

Support and Upgrades

In addition to getting the software required for development, the istart member can purchase technical support.

The istart Technical Support Team is highly skilled and experienced in iTV application system architecture, design, development, and integration. The engineers hold unparalleled expertise in the Digital Broadband Delivery System and the various standards and protocols used within the digital video space. The team provides support for client and headend issues and has direct access to the respective platform's engineering organization.

There are two levels of upgrades for technical support: Associate and Professional.
