The time is right – technologically and competitively – to deploy an adaptive streaming solution to serve the growing marketplace of IP-connected, video-capable devices. itaas serves as the ‘prime contractor’ contributing its skilled team of network architects, product integration know-how and extensive product testing capabilities as well as a client side solution for viewing content on a mobile device. At the outset of a project, itaas’ network architects will assess a service provider’s existing video delivery infrastructure and then work with the other three collaborators to design and implement a TV Everywhere solution that leverages the existing infrastructure and keeps costs and complexity to a minimum. The customer can leverage the itaas mobile application to view content or integrate it with an existing mobile solution.
RGB Networks provides its carrier-class Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG), a highly scalable transcoding platform delivering superior operational savings and benefits – as well as protocol adaptation with its TransAct Packager, which works in coordination with DRM and encryption from Verimatrix. RGB’s Packager supports the three main adaptive streaming formats – HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS), and Smooth Streaming.
Verimatrix‘s VCAS™ for Internet TV provides a complete digital TV security solution for over-the-top (OTT) services on networks implementing the HLS protocol, which includes important security extensions to support subscription and transaction-based revenue models. Verimatrix can also provide support for third-party DRM systems such as Verimatrix MultiRights™ for PlayReady DRM, which secures adaptive bitrate Smooth Streaming services to Microsoft PlayReady DRM-enabled clients and is supported by a single operator security headend.
Verivue‘s OneVantage provides a comprehensive CDN platform that accelerates and improves the delivery of diverse content and applications over an operator’s network. OneVantage CDN comprises of a suite of best-of-breed components for content publishing, high-performance distributed content caching, request routing, CDN management and analytics. For the TV Everywhere solution, the CDN components support a diverse set of technologies including the major HTTP adaptive streaming formats, Adobe RTMP and RTSP. OneVantage is a software-based solution that may be deployed on commodity off-the-shelf servers, and extensively leverages virtualization technologies to integrate these capabilities into a unified platform.
