itaas has created a testing and certification program for Digital Transport Adapter (DTA) converters.

Our DTA compliance testing process involves working with a variety of manufacturers to test subscriber devices prior to deployment in Service Provider systems. The DTA devices are designed to work with major cable headend systems, simplifying inventory and deployment.

VOD Session Simulator

Video On Demand (VOD) Session Simulator tool simulates the live environment of hundreds of thousands of Set Top Boxes (STBs). This tool gives Service Providers and VOD Service Providers the capability to implement the most effective VOD system testing. It gives Video Service Providers the ability to test the VOD environment to identify the potential flaws in the system and implement fixes before launch. It is also helps Service Providers determine the capacity load for their VOD system. The VOD Session Simulator tool acts as a set of Set top boxes (STB) posing as DSM-CC clients to the DNCS /session Manager to set up and tear down interactive sessions. This function gives customers the ability to configure multiple parameters like the DNCS IP address, Server NSAP address, number of STBs to emulate (along with their IP and MAC addresses), and delay between session requests.

SDV Simulator

As Switched Digital Video (SDV) deployments occur, it is vital that the quality of video services offered to the customer does not degrade as deployments grow larger in size. As more and more customers tune in and out of SDV channels, it is imperative that the response time and success rate of each SDV request does not suffer due to the increased load. The SDV Client Simulator is a software tool for simulating viewer’s channel change behavior on a large scale in order to generate load on the SDV SRM, SDV Servers and other network components involved in providing SDV service. SDV Client Simulator is a tool is capable of simulating hundreds of thousands of virtual set top boxes acting as SDV clients. The tool helps identify bottlenecks in a laboratory environment before deploying in the field. The tool can also help in regression testing upgrades and defect fixes to one or more components of the SDV delivery system. We also build specialized custom tools or harnesses.
